Prisons

Empowering Lives Through Prison Ministry.

Our prison ministry visits places like the Senior Correctional Center and James Camp Prison to uplift, bless, donate, and help inmates in practical ways. We believe everyone deserves hope, even behind bars, and we’re here to share that hope through Jesus. Here’s what we do, how we do it, and why it matters—all in simple, everyday language.

Prison can feel dark and lonely, but we bring God’s light to inmates.

  • What We Do: We sing songs like “Amazing Grace” in Twi or Ga, pray with inmates, and share Bible stories—like how Jesus forgave the thief on the cross (Luke 23:43).
  • Why It Helps: Inmates feel loved and find peace knowing God cares for them.

Many prisoners lack basic things. We step in to help.

  • What We Do: We bring soap, toothpaste, clothes, and food like gari and beans. We also give Bibles in local languages.
  • Why It Helps: Inmates feel cared for, and God’s Word gives them hope to hold onto.

We want inmates to leave prison ready for a fresh start.

  • What We Do: We teach skills like carpentry, tailoring, or farming. We also offer classes on reading and writing.
  • Why It Helps: Learning a trade gives them hope for a job, and education builds their confidence.

Prisoners often feel heavy with guilt or sadness. We listen and share God’s comfort.

  • What We Do: Our counselors talk one-on-one with inmates, pray with them, and share verses like “Come to me, all who are weary” (Matthew 11:28).
  • Why It Helps: Inmates feel less alone and start healing inside.

The Love Jar Foundation’s Christmas outreach at James Camp Prison successfully created an environment of love, joy, and hope for the inmates. Through practical donations, spiritual encouragement, and a festive celebration, the Foundation demonstrated its unwavering dedication to supporting marginalized communities. This visit marked another step in the journey of spreading goodwill and reinforcing the message of God’s love.

The Foundation remains committed to continuing its mission of love and service, striving to inspire hope and transformation in the lives of those it touches.

We can’t do this alone. We need your support to keep bringing hope to Ghana’s prisons.

  • Pray: Ask God to touch inmates’ hearts and give us strength to serve.
  • Donate: Give soap, clothes, food, or money to buy supplies. Every little bit helps.
  • Volunteer: Join us! Pray, teach a skill, or just listen—we’d love your help.
  • Invite Us: Know a prison that needs support? Tell us, and we’ll visit.

As a Ghanaian Christian NGO, we believe no one is too far from God’s love. By uplifting with prayer, blessing with donations, and helping with practical skills, we show inmates they matter—to God and to us. We’ve brought this love to the Senior Correctional Center and James Camp Prison, and we won’t stop there. Jesus said, “I was in prison and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36). With your help, we’ll keep serving with faith and love, one life at a time!
