Event: Love for Cerebral Palsy Outreach (3rd Edition)

Location: International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) – Yahweh Temple, Ghana

Objective:

To bring joy, support, and practical assistance to children with cerebral palsy and their families, while spreading the love of God during the festive Christmas season.

Summary:

As part of its end-of-year outreach, the Love Jar Foundation visited the ICGC Yahweh Temple to support children with cerebral palsy and their devoted guardians. This heartwarming initiative was focused on addressing the unique needs of cerebral palsy patients, sharing love, and providing healthcare support through collaboration with medical partners. The outreach emphasized not only meeting practical needs but also empowering families with tools and information to improve their overall well-being.

Outreach Highlights:

 Provision of Essentials: Donations included diapers to meet daily caregiving needs, snacks for moments of joy, bags and bottles of water for hydration, and a Ghanaian local delicacy, mashed kenkey, prepared to accommodate the dietary requirements of cerebral palsy patients with difficulties consuming solid foods.

 Free Health Screening: In collaboration with People’s Medical Centre, the Foundation offered comprehensive health screenings for the children and their guardians. This initiative aimed to provide valuable insights into their health status and empower them with knowledge for better healthcare practices.

 Spreading Christmas Cheer: The festive atmosphere created by the Love Jar Foundation uplifted the spirits of the children, mothers, and guardians, providing moments of happiness and a sense of community.

 A mother shared her gratitude: “This support means so much to us. The diapers and the mashed kenkey are exactly what we need to make our caregiving a little easier. Thank you for thinking of us.”
